After seeing the latest movie by Wes Anderson, I felt inspired by the military and camping aspects. The Khaki group in Moonrise Kingdom camping style reminded me of how wonderful the outdoors are. I wanted to convey the wonder lust feeling of the forest and mountains.
I found this graphic by Handsome Frank. It is an interesting observation to my generation. With the technologies of the day, people get lost in checking their social media at every second of the day. I don't exclude myself from this but am trying to be conscious about it.
I recently made this dress inspired by the Wicked Witch of the West. The silk bodice is hand beaded with green to match the bows on the tule skirt. My lovely roommate Christina Ulsh is the model.
Here is some progress for my senior collection. I am taking inspiration from 1970's sports cars.
I am screen printing the cat print on mint chiffon. It has been quite a process! My friend Cari Cardentey taught me all the magic she knows about screen print and the emulsion process. More pictures to come!
